It's Chilis. So food is what you expect. I've had to wait pretty long for take out. I've definitely had some good experiences with waiters there, but I was there with my parents this week, and my dad was super bent out of shape by one of the waiters there. He has longer hair and facial hair. He came, didn't introduce himself, just asked if we were ready to order. Drinks took forever. I could tell he was trying, and whenever he came over he asked if we needed anything, but instead of saying things like "I'm sorry, what did you say?" he would say "waddup?". He was a little rough. But yeah...it's Chili's so, it's all good.

I used to love this place growing up but as I got older it just has lost its class and touch. The place is always dirty the seats always have food on them or something sticky the table always feels greasy. But even worse than all that...the service is TERRIBLE. The waiter or Waitress never looks interested in serving, 9-10 times they rather gather near the register and complain about other customers or even about their own staff. The food is a hit or miss if the cooks feel like making it right or if the server feels like giving the right order its a great place to grab food and go but I would highly recommend checking it because ive never came home with the right food or better yet with the food all spilled into the bag. This place has gone down the drain and its sad to say cause it used to be a great place together at. I will never give this location a chance again.

My wife and I went here for dinner earlier this evening. Take my advice and skip this place. Our server took our drink orders, and that's about the best thing that happened. After our drinks, we waited quite awhile for her to return to take our order. We ordered salads and entrees, and then waited for 25 minutes or so, with our waitress no where to be found. When she returned, I asked if we could have our salads, and also ordered a beer. She said that our salads would be right up, and then proceeded to have our entrees and salads delivered at the same time. So, I had to choke down my salad so that my entree wouldn't get cold. She showed up after our meal was finished, and I told her that she could skip bringing my beer that I ordered 45 minutes ago, as my dinner was already finished. After failing to ask us if we wanted anything else, we were presented with our check. As for the food itself, it was mediocre at best. I ordered the fajitas, and they bring you a pretty good portion of meat and onions, but only three tortillas, and the toppings are pretty skimpy as well. My wife ordered a chicken sandwich, and only ate half of it, as it wasn't very good. At any rate, do yourself a favor and skip this place. If you have a taste for Mexican food, just walk next door to El Famous Burrito and save your time and money.

Slowest service ever...and with the restaurant half empty...after waiting more than half an hour...the manager comes and says they are sorry for the delay...then we wait another 20min....NO FOOD...NO EXPLANATION...we then inquire...they say our food is just being fired....with an attitude from the manager...we will never frequent that location again until the change management.

Food was very bad. Kitchen was slow. The manager said we are slammed so we are way behind. Really... Saturday at 6pm and you're slammed no kidding. Be ready for dinner! We had the fajitas. Obviously frozen fake chicken breast. It sucked. My kid has the kids pizza worst tasting ever. I know its kids pizza but really. Chili's obviously is downgrading their food to improve profits. I'd rather pay more and get REAL food.

I really don't like this Chili's. I came here twice within about 6-8 months of each visit and I do not think I will ever return to this location. The first experience I had, I actually walked out before I was seated. The host that was working was standing around with an awful attitude, and when my friend and I walked in, he looked at us and kept saying "Hold on, hold on, I will be right back..." as he was walking to the kitchen. My friend and I waited for a few minutes, looked at each other and just walked out. I don't know what was so important that he couldn't seat us somewhere in the empty restaurant before he walked away. The other experience I had was with the same friend, and we were actually seated right away by the same guy that walked away from us the first time. I was mildly surprised, but his attitude was just as bad as the first time I was there. He told the server that we had been seated, and the server took our order and served our food, but we never saw him aside from when he brought our check. We timed how long it took between finishing our meal and asking the server for our check, and I thought it was about 15 minutes before we saw him again. I went to use the restroom before I left, and the only thing the server and the host were doing were sitting in a booth complaining about their jobs and the people that worked there. The food was alright, but I do have to say that the service was sub-par, to be polite. If people are coming in to be served, then at least try to be good at your job because after all, without people coming in, you wouldn't have a job. I regret that this Chili's had failed that in the few times I've been here because this is closer to where I normally shop, but I prefer the other location across town.

Food was all right We were told of a 30 minute wait but only half the tables were full. Slow and bad service. Everything took too long. Not going back

Absolutely terrible!! They screwed up twice on our order. When we got our appetizers, the meat for the burgers was red inside. When I got my fajitas, they were RAW!!! I don't mean just red, I mean completely raw. They brought me ones that were fully cooked, but still tasted terrible. The meat was rubbery and tasteless. The manager had the audacity to come to me and tell me how that's how he likes his meat, raw. Are you kidding? We didn't get any compensation at all, just a very, very expensive bill. I will never, ever eat at Chili's again. Beware of this location!

Chili's has a new menu with many new choices, their dishing up more Mexican and Burgers. I had the fresh mex pick two with beans and rice. For standard Mexican it had a good taste. The star of the night at Chili's is as always the Coke Freestyle machine at over 100 favors you can't go wrong! The Coke Freestyle machine bumped this meal from a 2 1/2 to 3 stars.

I added 2 more stars than last time I checked in here becuz their dr pepper ribs was unbelievably amazing and the new waiter they have was beyond professional , he recommended the ribs and was checking on us every few minutes . Keep it up chili's

Checked in checked out. My waitress spilled a tray of drinks in my lap. Not mine a different table .The manager offered 10% off my meal. I am soaking wet, winter in Chicago. The food has always been mediocre at best.

SO SLOOWWWW. Food -- when it finally arrived -- was fine (and did arrive hot). This is the second time in a row that we came and had to wait an unusually long time to get our food.

  • Steve N.

I'm glad I'm using the free meal coupon. Second time here. Don't come here for the burgers. Not very tasty. Average if that. The fries are seasoned. I don't like the seasoning. The use cheap lettuce n pickles. I asked for extra lettuce, onion ect and got a regular handout s and even this was minimal. The bacon is pretty good. I asked for a little pink inside the burger and it was very pink ( luckily I don't mind this ) Also the burger was a little cold inside. This dumbfounded me. I usually don't say this but I don't recommend this place at all. I'm giving it a 2 star because the server was ok and refilled my drink asap and it was a clean place.

This location used to be very good, but everything has changed. The food is not nearly what it used to be. The chicken crispers back in the day were great. Now they have made them so much smaller, and the service at this location for carry out is HORRIBLE!!!. It is the carry out service that makes me refuse to go back!

Have come here on a weekday and enjoyed myself, be warned that if you come on a Friday night it is almost guaranteed to be filled with kicking and screaming children. I don't expect much here because it is Chili's, so I know it's a chain and what to expect for the most part, but it's pretty good for a quick bite to eat. The fiance ordered a chicken dish which was pretty good. I ordered the shrimp tacos and they were pretty tasty, a little spicy. But it was by far the worst rice I have ever had, it was undercooked and tasteless. I would suggest coming in here for drinks and appetizers. Most of the appetizers I have had have been really good.

Ok, it's a Chilli's. It's just like all the other Chilli's. But why don't these places get it that I only have 1 hour for lunch? Ok, it takes ~15 minutes to get there and ~15 to get back - that leaves them 1/2 hour. Not brain surgery! GET THE FRICKING FOOD OUT HERE! Because if you don't, it's easy... I will not come back!

  • Sara M.

Most Chili's I've been to get a solid 3 stars from me; this one started with that solid 3 but had one docked for a yucky meal. In general, the food is pretty tasty at most Chili's, especially when you're craving the familiarity of something you can consistently expect to be a solid meal. I ordered a black bean burger today with swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onions. It came with mustard, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles. Gross. No one in my family would let me call attention to it, because they didn't want me to be "obnoxious." So I had scrape off all the grossness and eat a mediocre meal. I'm a picky eater and I ordered my black bean burger without pickles, mustard, and cheddar cheese for a reason- I think they're icky things! Now, it's not Chili's fault that I didn't give them the ability to fix their mistake but it is their fault they didn't get my order right in the first place. I really don't understand why every Chili's struggles to put together a black bean burger, nor do I understand their delicious hold on me that makes me continue to order them. Other than that, our meal was pretty standard. Sweet waitress, good appetizers, everyone else was pleased with their meals. Strong margaritas were sucked back by many. Chips and salsa were indeed bottomless (we tested that theory). They also make a pretty delightful spinach-artichoke dip.

Wow wtf? Waited 30 minutes to get a table and an hour waiting for food. The window blinds are absolutely filthy like they haven't been cleaned EVER. Not going to come back to this sh!thole again

Whoa, this place is garbage! Gave 2 stars only because I went during an off time, and maybe it couldve been better. After being sat by a friendly host, we waited at least 10 minutes before a server came to us. Eventually a crabby brunette came and took our drink order and walked away.. We ended up yelling our appetizer order to her as she darted off. (it was not busy at all, this was at like 2pm on a thursday) Whatever, she sucked. This place looks totally nineties, outdated, and just feels dusty. Food was pretty lame, just totally unimpressed. Get it together chilis.

Terrible food and terrible service. I was here about a year ago and has a similar bad experience. I vowed to never go back but did over the weekend. It took an hour to bring 2? Kids burgers that were again over cooked. Plus my burger that was also over cooked. Bad place

We dined there last night. I remember Chili's used to be good but I think as a corporation expands, food quality goes down and prices go up. The menu is different and kind of expensive. My mom did like her hamburger. My sister and I ordered steak fajitas for two. They smell good as they go by, terrible plate, $16.98 for some of the worse fatty steak meat I have ever had. It lays in a pile of grease and is very fatty hard to chew and swollow. We ordered corn tortillas instead of flour, they were straight out of the refrigerator, not grilled or steamed very long at all, tasted raw and chewy. The veggies were greasy, I've had better fajitas at El Burrito for $7.98. The guacamole was really cold, lettuce soggy. The server was nice but I am not going to eat there anymore.

Normally, our family loves going to Chili's. This location, however, does NOT have its act together! Last visit the host would not let us use a kiosk for the kids to play a game on. This time our host walked away while we were telling him that our table was sticky. Some drinks had no ice, the chicken in the fajitas was undercooked and under seasoned, and the server walked away before we finished placing our dessert order. Steer clear of this location. Chili's HQ: send a secret diner here ASAP!

How have I been missing Chili's, with the great low carb options and avocado ranch dressing?! So good.

  • Natalie F.

I guess I can't really say anything BAD about Chili's. Good margarita's, fajita's and ribs from what I hear! This location is usually not too packed and the service is usually pretty good. I wish they had more salad choices but that is only because I can be a picky eater. I blame my stomach on that! The only thing I hate is you park and think oh good it's dead (lunch time frame) and it will be quiet to chit chat without feeling like other people listen to your business. Then you get in and they keep half of the place closed until dinner time so you have to sit on a crowded/loud side. Oh well I guess. LOL. Actually another thing I hate is somehow the fews times I have gone here I get the booth close to the kitchen. That means I get all the loud kitchen noise and chit chat. It's not a BAD place to visit every so often. Ummm considering there is NO local Applebee's around here. ;)

One star for really bad service. Server was joe. They weren't busy at all later tonight, but it was like we were bothering the server. Food was good but service sucked.

World's dry burgers of the year award goes to Chili's. They will not cook a burger less than medium... Their medium is all grey somewhat like my shoe leather and zero juice. Yuck! The moldy Ice Tea description is right on... Should have read reviews b4 eating here. I had the same awful tea. My wife had a steak quesadilla that was pretty awful strange tasting meat on a soggy tortilla. The only good thing was our server Alex was very good. The Southwestern Egg Rolls were also tasty. We will not go back.

Hmmm, kind of reminds me of a Bennagain's with a Tex-Mex theme. Not that I'm complaining. Regardless of that annoying marketing "Baby back ribs" jingle running through my head, I did enjoy the food here. I did not get the ribs, but opted for a Cajun blackened chicken sandwich. It was really tasty, and they understand the concept that blackened does not equal burnt to a crisp! I did notice the $3 Margarita specials, was tempted, but decided against it. Our service was the peppy/friendly that you get at most places like this, so there were no complaints in that department. Actually, this will probably be one of the few chain restaurants I could find myself frequenting!

9:00 - walk in after [unsuccessfully] trying to see a movie (crickets as servers, bartenders, and probably a manager walk by) - mind you, no one else waiting for a table or anything 9:10 - host person strolls up and starts to seat us - right after he grabs menus, the Manager comes up and yells at the host for something not related to us getting a table. we ended up being seated at this fine Downers Grove establishment in the noisiest section. The server came to get our orders, we ate, and that was about it. My observation was that no one really wanted to be there. The server didn't smile (I don't think anyone really was), it was dark and freezing in the middle of june, and it didn't seem that anyone wanted to be there. Not the way to get me to come back...

I think Chili's will always be a safe choice for a good dinner. Ive never had a problem with any meal there. Their food has been consistently good and the service is usually attentive and quick. It's your typical American bar and grill.

Just had the worst experience ever! First of all, if you are low on cash and received a gift card for your birthday, I'd advise not to use it at Chilis because they have major issues on running a gift card. My husband and I went there for a little celebration for my birthday and had a gift card we were planning to use. We asked them to take the balance off the gift card and we pay for the rest. But, for some reason, they could not run the exact amount of what was left on a card. The card would come back as declined, which was impossible. The manager insisted we pay with our debit card, which would have hurt us since we paid major bills and rent just recently. I called customer service for the gift card and were told we did indeed have the money on the gift card. We had the manager speak to the customer rep, for which we waited for nearly two hours until he came back. He said only 20 bucks would be accepted off the gift card, which was very odd. Also, even though he said he would refund our 20 bucks back, we still have to wait 2 business days before our bank receives it back! So, they have no problem taking our money in an instant, but it takes them 48 hours to give it back! Also, I don't understand why this place would have a problem with gift cards for actual amount! Why only take $20? I just hope we get our money back. I do have lots of receipts from them proving their mistake. But I should not have to go through 2 hours of Hell just because a place has a ridiculous problem with running a simple gift card. I should have demanded a full refund I think.

We stopped in after a charity event and sat in the bar . The server was great , he was very attentive and made sure that our drinks were full and we did not run out of chips . The unlimited chips and salsa is a great bargain . We ordered boneless buffalo wing , they were specially priced and really hit the spot . My wife had a bowl of soup , she says she has never had a bad one . I ordered the side salad with extra onions , it was just right ! We had a very nice experience and count Chili's as one of our all time favorites .

After reading the previous reviews I feel kinda left out. I actually enjoy going to this restaurant. I never had a problem with their food or their service, although when my BF and I go, they seem to think that we're going to share 1 dessert....yeah I don't think so...I love my chocolate cake lol

Yes i live in the city but my favorite chain is Chili's, and i was STARVING - my stomach was eating itself! - so we sat in the bar and had a quick 25 minute dinner / appetizers meal. Didn't even feel guilty as the shiny plastic menus at Chili's assured me I had ingested less than 700 calories - I like this =)

Chilis changed for the better... We had a good waiter that was on his game and the food was actually good. We got margaritas for the first round and they tasted amazing and then the second time didn't taste the same at all... The flat bread was actually flatbread with actual toppings and defiantly worth the money. It's not like a flat chip like Fridays has... Will he going back for the same waiter again soon...

Our server was Andrew tonight...and what a terrific job he did. Its a Monday night so we knew it wasn't going to be busy. We took a both in the bar area right away. Andrew took our drink orders and appetizer and then came back to get our entrees. Food came out at a great pace and spaced out enough. So a big thank you to the kitchen! Our drinks were never empty and Andrew checked on us enough but not too much which was perfect. Overall a great experience!

My wife and I came before we started our Christmas shopping since I didn't want Chinese this particular evening. We walked in to a fairly slow restaurant and the guy that sat us was very pleasant. When we were being seated we noticed these displays on all the tables. When we asked what they were he told us that we could put our orders in that way if we wanted and it also has some games and other things. Being a restaurant manager myself, the first thing I thought of is what a negative experience this becomes since server interaction is really no longer needed. Also, the idea of "keeping the kids busy" by having video games on the table offends me. I asked if he could remove it and he very graciously did. We should have kept the damned thing... 10 minutes later our server arrives, doesn't introduce herself and seems a bit hassled. Her section had 3 active tables in it that I could tell. Like I said, not busy. We ordered a couple of appetizers. The spinach/artichoke dip lacked any flavor and came with I think amounted to an entire bag of chips. Not proportionate at all. My wife got the southwestern egg rolls, which are rather tasty. When our entrees came, before we finished our apps and we aren't slow eaters, she just tried moving the plates around to accomodate all the other plates. Now we were at a very small table for two people. The fajitas I ordered came with 3 different plates alone. I asked for a box for the dip and chips. Instead of bringing the items back and doing it herself she just came back and dropped off a box for me to do it. This is a point of service that is big with me. Once I had the plates stacked the way I needed them to be I started eating. The fajita skillet did not come out sizzling as I believe it should have. The flavor was lacking, food was lukewarm, overall extremely dissapointing. My wife's dish was just as lacking in flavor. Our server never really came back except toward the end. We declined dessert. We won't be back. A dinner that ended up costing $60 should have come with much better food and definitely better service.

The worst Chilis I have ever been to. The waiter was not very knowledgeable of the menu. The specials he offered were not actually available. He went back to ask others four times for confirmation of menu items. Our previous experience was just as bad. Mediocre food. Dry ribs and chicken not cooked all the way. We will never go back to this Chilis again. Applebee's here we come!
